Hey! We need more activity so I'm gonna try to create a buncha threads to talk in and get some people back here! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here has read the actual book, 'Band of Brothers' by Stephen Ambrose? I've only read a bit, but I do have the book about Dick Winters entitled, 'The Biggest Brother.'

I've read about 1/3 of Band of Brothers. It is good! I also have a audio book, it is really nice. I could understand it In that book from Winters does he also write something about his best friend Lew? I am interessted about everything about Lew *love him so much*

OH HI, I'M BACK. Anyways, I adore the book. There are quite a few differences between the book and the series, but I really think they did a great job with the adaptation. With the exception of Blithe's story...

Well, he didn't actually die from the wounds he suffered at Carentan, like the series says. He actually went on to continue serving until I think the 60s when he died. And also, his huge ordeal with panic and shock was apparently highly exaggerated and mostly not true... I dunno, there's been some arguments over the truthfulness over his story.

Holy crapsies, that is a lot different. I wonder why they'd changed the story so much. Weeeird

I guess they thought that would be a good storyline to put in. As far as I can tell, they mostly just exaggerated facts.

Hi all, I'm in the midst of reading a few books actually.
I finished "Brothers in Battle: Best of Friends" by Bill Guarnere and Babe Heffron. I'm currently reading the memoirs of Don Malarkey as well. After I finish that one, I'll read "Beyond Band of Brothers" by Major Dick Winters.
So many good books, so little time. ;D

I definitely want to read the Guarnere and Babe book, but I can't seem to be able to get a hold of it without buying it. I'll find it somewhere.
I heard it's ridiculously funny.
