"You'd be trying to please everyone and trying to get everything done exactly right. You'd be funny to watch as you would run along trying to fix anything. You'd be like a caged mother lion protecting her cubs."

Shifty made a face at Roe's comparison. "Reall? I don't see myself that way." Shifty answered honestly.

Roe smiled and said, "You're the type who is looking for approval but is in denial over it because you think it's bad to be doing that. You make up for it by being modest about compliments given to you. The other part is that you are a caring person. You don't like seeing your buddies hurt."

Joe found the rain suddenly entrancing as it slipped across his dirt-caked skin, eating away the brown and the muck with each drop. He thought he might ought to try and find something to wipe himself off with, but it was somehow more interesting to allow the rain to do the job. It wasn't until several minutes of listening to the steady sheet of rain had passed that he noticed that there was another addition to the ambiance. The voices of men brought him out of his glazed expression, and Joe hastily whipped his body around.
He allowed himself a slight sneer. It was just a medic . Maybe his name was Roe, he couldn't be sure, and Shifty discussing some personal matters or dilemmas or what-not, he really wasn't interested. He just wondered why they were choosing to have themselves a little cozy chat while out getting wet in the rain.

Shifty hadn't known Roe for long, and it was interesting to see how much Roe had seen in him in that short time. "I guess you could say that." Shifty said, and he moved so that he was standing just inside the door, and of the rain. Looking out, he spotted Liebgott standing out in the rain, just standing there, letting the water run itself over his skin. Liebgott was a peculiar guy, Shifty thought, though he was a good soldier.

Roe nodded and said, "I'm just good at reading people." Roe looked over to where Shifty was looking and saw LIebgott standing in the rain. He told Shifty to hold on a sec as he walked over to the private Liebgott or something. He asked him, "What are you going out in the rain like this. You could catch pneumonia if you're not careful."

Liebgott watched with mild interest as the medic approached, likely to offer him some medical reasoning as to why he shouldn't be allowing himself to soak in the cold. He hadn't spoken to many medics, but the ones he had come into contact with were always nagging him to pay more attention to his body and what it was telling him, or something along those lines. He never listened.
"I'm alright, Doc," Liebgott said with a slight smirk. "Just taking a shower, ya know?"

Roe looked at Liebgott skeptically and said, "I'm not your mother but I don't expect any smart answers from you. Now I don't want to be stuck inside the hospital watching your every move when you're coughing yourself to death cause of this."

Liebgott bit down on his lip for a brief moment, rather taken aback by the medic's words. He wasn't used to being spoken to that way... and certainly never by any of the other soldiers. Maybe his mom had scolded him once or twice about the merits of proper hygiene, but that was too far in the past to count.
"I don't get sick, Doc," he nodded, turning his face up towards the rain.

Liebgott suppressed a snarl as he bit down on his lip carefully. He was quite certain that it was slightly twitching.
"Geeze, Doc," Joe said under his breath, "No need to get so worked up." He paused, glancing over his shoulder. "If that's what you really want, than fine. I'll go."

Shifty's eyebrows rose as he heard Doc Roe yelled at Liebgott, something the male never expected from the medic. Roe was usually so quiet, and reserved. And what confused the young man even more was Lieb's response. Shifty was sure Liebgott usually would have given the medic a hard time.
