Here we are. Now whenever y'all wanna talk about the Pacific, y'all can chate RIIGHT here.
I don't mind spoilers up to this point but I heard it's goin' real slow. Not so much action, but a lot of love story?
That's just what I've heard but I dunno. I'll probably get to watching the last couple I've missed tonight. But anyway, Chat on!

I know there will be some action in the episode "Iwo Jima", and I already know what happens, or at least part of it, because I accidentally looked up one of the actual guys, and ruined the whole thing for myself

Major spoilers below, just in case.
JUST WATCHED EPISODE SEVEN AND OH MY LORD. Dude, so. Sledge. What even happened to baby Sledge? It's impossible to recognize him. Joe's done a great great job with the transformation, in my opinion. And a lot of the credit needs to go to his use of his eyes. Just wow. Honestly.
I would have never believed that Eugene would find himself even more ravaged and disturbed by war than Sidney... When he comes back home, he'll be the one the most changed and that just breaks my heart. Eugene'll be the one the most haunted by unmentionable horrors of war that he can't ever hope to share with Sidney, not the other way around. And that just blows my mind.
Oh, and Snafu has randomly become Gene's little dark guardian angel, which makes me so happy<3. I think Rami Malek said at one point that he saw Snafu as a sort of foil to Sledge's character, and I think he said that he sees a lot of his former self in Sledge. And he takes it upon himself to preserve that innocence (in strange, Snafu ways of course) because he doesn't want to see Gene end up like him. And that just redeems Snafu's insanity in my mind.
YEAH SO. <33333

ldfhksdhf i know sledge omgomgomgomgogmg there's some hint of the being changed more than sidney thing when you watch the making of program wksdfhkdhf JUST ACHEY BREAKY HEART D;
*flail* snafu was so totally his little angel. like, I always imagined Snafu as this... angry, yet suave dog on a leash that Eugene kind of held... but now.... I don't know.... it's like it's been turned around sdkfhdskfh they're a very fucked up version of Webster and Liebgott, in a way. IN A WAY.
IT'S SUCH AN EPIC EPISODE ACK.
*reminds self of twitch from south park*
ON ANOTHER NOTE - Joe is so amazing as that character, yeah. That one part, when Ack-Ack was being brought by, I loved when he lifted his hands to his eyes like - rub it away, the stress, the sight, his tears - but then he stopped himself. Like he wouldn't give himself a break down and was all, "buck up, you gotta grow up, you can't go cryin' like some lil' boy n'more." and sdkfhsdkfhkwaedshf
idek just such love for his characterization and those chocolate swirls for eyes.

DUDE. Someone said that they saw Snafu as an intense version of Liebgott and Luz and I can so see it. As for Sledge, I kind of see a Webster with a hint of Roe(?) thrown in there for good measure.
But now I definitely cannot unsee the Webster and Liebgott reference.
Snafu's just... I don't think I'm anywhere close to understanding him yet. That's going to take forever. But the latest episode helped. And when he was like throwing rocks at that Japanese dude's mushed up brains and Sledge just kind of watches.. it totally reminded me of the scene where Sledge freaks out just because Sidney is trying to light a crab on fire. And... just... what a difference.
YES I TOTALLY SAW THAT. Gene was all like... I'm a big boy. I don't cry. I'm hardened by all this now, I've seen death. I gotta move on. But he played that really well and therefore he pretty much takes the place in my heart as the most talented actor in The Pacific. Though I think Rami follows pretty close behind. And then Ashton's in there somewhere.

LOL I SEE IT TOO NOW oh gosh dkfhdskfh Webster and Roe, definitely, and - in the beginning, a bit of O'Keefe. WITH THAT BOYISH OBLIVIOUSNESS.
He used to be so compassionate!!!! DDDD; I just sdfhdskfh and I know there's something minor that's coming up that's going to send Sledge right over the edge, I think v_v *weeps for his lost innocence* Ugh. My heart's hurting already this is TOUGH STUFF.
ksdhfkdshf I love Leckie's performance (especially when he had to go to the "hospital") and then... uh, shit... loss of name... LeBlanc? That one minute of the Canadian lieutenant, when he... flips. That was intense. I haven't warmed to Jon yet (except the bar scene when they had that beer to Manny =[ ) because his episodes haven't really hit me yet. I have a feeling it'll be soon.
As I told my dad, though - I keep expecting Lipton and Winters to like, pop in and Lippy do his mama thing and Winters all, "it's gunna be okay, boys."
and maybe a bit of bamf Speirs to go kill some Japs.

FANDOM HAS THEIR NEW WEBGOTT, that's all I have to say. Though Phillips certainly brings in some competition. I know, he did. Just a good little patriotic Christian boy, ready to be out on his own and prove to his parents that he can face the world. I just... I dunno how you ever recover from something like the things he's faced. I dunno how you can ever relate to people who haven't experienced combat. YES, LECKIE. Leckie's been putting up good performances as of late, though I honestly haven't cared for him as a much as I have the other boys. Next week's episode is supposed to be a Jon episode, so we'll see about him. I like him, I like his story already. DUDE YEAH, WE NEED A MOM. Chuckler was kind of the mom there, for a while. BUT OF COURSE, no longer. :{ ekfk I miss him so much. And Hoosier. And Runner and just Team Leckie :{ L0L SPEIRS. I need to rewatch BoB.

YA THINK MUCH? PACIFIC KINKMEME IS LIKE, THE BEST FOR IT SO FAR. You should see some of the prompts. They're so unfunf.
And man, now that I think about, I have to study Eugene so much more. I still have the image of him, the outline, but I need the insides to play him as well as Joe does on screen. (BUT I COULD NEVER OUT-HEARTBREAK HIM LIKE THAT MAN CAN.)
ekrdfghkerhsf ARGH HOOSIER I JUST WANNA KNOOOOOOOOOOOW *WAILS* THIS IS RIDICULOUS, WITHHOLDING INFORMATION ABOUT HIM FROM ME. WTF, MAN, WTF. And the mother of Team Sledgehammah is gone too =((
oh god I know. everytime I hear the music of BoB, though, I wanna rewatch it xDDD

DUDE OKAY I'M REALLY GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE ON HERE WHO ENJOYS THE EXISTENCE OF THAT MEME. I feel like a cr33per for it. Lawll. I honestly can't decide between Phillips and Snafu for Sledge, so basically I've decided that either is a-okay with me.
I know, the characters are sooo hard to get down. We haven't been exposed to them for very long, and seven episodes isn't enough to decode a man's personality. But it'll get better.
I KNOW, I KNOW, HOOSIER. I WAS SO GLAD TO SEE CHUCKLER ALIVE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. I like started jumping up and down and running around and basically freaking the fuck out and scaring people.
I randomly really want to watch Currahee and enjoy Sobel being a bitch.
