Bottles of beer were set down in front of Roe, Bill, Tab and Babe. The bartender looked at them. "Ees frahm yer freend," he spoke in broken English. "Cheers!" he offered with his bottle held high and took a long drink from it.

Roe looked at their overly drunk Platoon Leader and said, "Sir, you may outrank me but as medic I have a say in this and the ability to order you about things medically and I strongly urge to cut the drinking or you'll be hell in the morning."

Babe looked at Harry and how drunk he was and he couldnt help but grin. He took a sip of his beer and watched as Doc Roe talked to Harry about his drunkeness

Harry laughed. "Nah, takin' the day off," he told Roe. "After all, we are on R&R and, Doc, I'm not that drunk. Yet!" he laughed again.. "I plan on sleeping it off an then tomorrow afternoon I'm taking in the sights of Paris. You know, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Seine River, the Arch de Triomphe. Probably take in a sidewalk cafe or two. Anybody care to join me?"

"I thought you were headed to Rheims to see Marlene Deitrich."

"Ah, Marlene," he sighed, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath as though the name had a wonderful fragrance to it.. "Alas and alak, she will not be there," he waxed poetic. "My little heart is broken. I would have loved to see that beauty in life. Hey, did I ever tell you guys that my girl looks like Marlene Deitrich? You know, Kitty Grogan, my fiancee'. Well, she will be when I get back -- I hope."

Tab smirked as Harry spoke about Kitty Grogan, one of his favorite subjects of conversation. Taking a sip, Tab nodded, before holding his drink out to Harry. " To Harry and Kitty, hopefully." Tab said with a grin.

"To the most beautiful woman in the world! Kitty Grogan!" he lifted his bottle high and took a long drink finishing his bottle. "BAR KEEP! ANOTHER ROUND!" he tossed some money on the bar pointing to the others and himself.

There was a jukebox in the corner and it began playing a familiar tune. Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me Anyone else but me No! No! No! Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me, Til I come marching home. Harry began to sing along with the song, his voice slightly off key but close enough to recognize the tune. He lit a cigarette and blew out the smoke then took another long drink of the beer. He teetered slightly on the stool but managed to keep from falling off. "Gentlemen, I do believe I may call it a night," he grinned and held onto the bar to keep from slipping off. "That is if I can make my feet work." His eyes crossed slightly as he tried to focus. "I think it's time to get off this ride," he chuckled.

Roe niticed Harry's unsteadiness. He turned to Muck to see the same thing. He turned to Babe and said, "Babe walk the Lieutenant and Skip back to barracks and then you can come back. They both need a break from drinking."
